We are hiring up to 2 (two) full time, permanent Systems Analyst, Web positions working out of Edmonton, AB.
The Web Systems Analyst provides web technology support to the Application Services department and EPCOR as a whole. They are responsible for maintaining, operating and enhancing EPCOR’s custom web applications. The Web Systems Analyst will provide usability focused solutions which delight our customers.
What you’d be responsible for
Reporting to the Manager, Web & Mobile, you would be accountable for but not limited to:
- Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate operational performance metrics:
- Incident Delivery and Responsiveness
- Delivery on Change Request estimations
- Customer Satisfaction Surveys
- System Availability
- Process Improvements
- Monitoring application performance and tracking performance trends including hardware and OS resources
- Ensuring system reliability and availability through proactive system monitoring, maintenance and change management
- Providing excellent customer service to our customers. Employs open communication and problem solving skills to resolve customer issues and incidents efficiently and effectively within expected timeframes.
- Abiding by all Application Services departmental policies and processes for the purpose of consistent support and administrative practices throughout Application Services
- Scheduling and performing deployments on production systems
- Provide on-call support for all web applications
What’s required to be successful
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering OR diploma in Computer Engineering, System Technology or Management Information Systems
- 4-6 years of related experience in Web Operations and/or Development
- Candidates possessing less than the required years of experience may be considered for a developmental position
- Broad understanding of IT concepts
- Experience with Agile/SCRUM using one or more common programming languages
- Experience supporting large public facing websites or intranets is an asset
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts like load balancers, firewalls and domains
- Experience in web technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Angular, ReactJS, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap and JavaScript
- Experience working with technical and non-technical end users
- Demonstrated capability to design, develop and unit test web solutions
- Can comfortably move between tech stacks
- Proven track record of ability to diagnose, research, recommend and implement solutions to production problems
- Effective interpersonal and customer service skills which will help to build and foster lasting relationships
- Strong work ethic and critical thinking skills that will allow for success in a highly visible area of Information Services
- Seeks out and acts on opportunities to learn new skills and improve processes and procedures within the team
- Strives to efficiently fulfill customer requests and complete assigned tasks with a high degree of quality

Wage: IT2 starting at $53.05 per hour; developmental (IT1) starting at $48.58 per hour (Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and are based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement.)
Hours of work: 75 hours biweekly
